I so hope this goes off without a hitch.
...I think the whole world hopes this goes smoothly.
But, she is the Queen so she can do what she wants.

What’s she going to do, complain to the Prime Minister?

Maybe she will get a bad headache just hours before he’s scheduled to meet her. She should snub him. She has nothing to lose.

Ask him how Vlad is doing

This shouldn’t be embarrassing. I hope she at least slaps him.

It’d be a shame if the Royal Guards thought he was a danger to the queen and took him out.
With the way he treated his old driver/bodyguard, the secret service might be a half step too slow to jump in front of him. ( https://splinternews.com/trump-treated-his-driver-like-dirt-for-years-lawsuit-c-1827450234 )
What would the US do, complain to the Prime Minister?

I've been saving it for about a month looking for the right time and place to use it.

She would set her Corgis on him if he tried anything.

It’s funny you said that. I’ve been thinking that eventually someone in his administration will be physically a ttacked by their counterpart(s) of an Allied nation.
And like the synopsis of an '80's movie, "hilarity ensues".

I bet Merkel (now the leader of the free world) punches above her weight. The Queen probably knows some tricks, too.
Unfortunately, the base would spin out of control at such an event.

Maybe the Queen will take the opportunity to rip him a new asshole, instead of a publicity visit ?

If I’m not mistaken, the last in the lineage of Corgis she’s had since a teenager passed away recently.

The fact that a “royal family” still exists In 2018 is kind of halarious. Do they actually get tax payer money? For... being unemployed?

It’s a Public Relations/History based
Tourism thing when you really look at the core of it Several other European countries do have Royals but none quite famous.
And yes, they get “
stipends”

She’s too classy and he’s too dumb for her to do anything that he’d notice during the event; however, she is a world class shade tosser. If throwing shade in a dignified manner was ranked , she’d be the queen of that too.

Let us also hope that when things don't go his way, he doesn't publicly insult the Queen after throwing a hissy fit like he and his administration has done recently to Bush, Sr. and John McCain.

Murka has the Kennedys and now the Trumps, those old sometimes intermarried royals don’t look so bad now.

You think? He’ll totally do it. My 3 year old niece has better self control.

You know he’s going to bring her a DVD with digital renderings of all the hotels, casinos, and golf courses that could be built on the Balmoral estate.

She does still have two “Dorgis” (Dachshund/Corgi mixes), but I’m not sure that’s enough. It would have been extremely satisfying to have seen him be felled by a pack of Corgis.

It’s not as silly as it sounds. Aside from the tourism/pomp aspect, they actually get taxpayer money for being a constitutional safety valve. The Queen basically has only one power, but it’s a nuclear one - she gets to fire the government and force an election at will. It’s only been exercised once in living memory - she fired an Australian government in the 70s. But we pay airline pilots a lot for skills that we hope they never have to exercise, too.
There’s actually a pretty decent argument that giving that power to someone with an incentive to take the long view is more effective than a system of checks and balances based on short term elected officials, and that running a royal family is actually cheaper than maintaining all those checks and balances: most constitutional monarchies have simpler government systems than (e.g.) the US one.
Plus having Liz on tap as a discreet, politically neutral and highly experienced sounding board is apparently a side benefit that prime ministers typically appreciate more and more the longer they’re in office
